Hey, maybe it's time for you to learn a valuable lesson, too. You know, the one where you figure out that being a crazy fucking ingrate pisses people off.
Re: You brought no snark, so I bring some for you.
I don't think I'm a "crazy fucking ingrate" for calling Katzuba a liar. And seriously, sticking up for Somerville T&P? I think you're all alone on that team.
I know -- I've personally learned *my* lesson about trying to post/comment when my brain is already overloaded at work. But you know, I won't be deleting my LJ over it or anything. Sorry if that disappoints you all!
Yes, clearly I wake up each day thinking, "please oh please won't *someone* hate me today?" You've managed to psychoanalyze and diagnose me via the Internet. Hooray for you!
No.
I posted this because I thought it was somewhat melodramatic of Mr. Champion to delete his account and huff off based on my pointing out that Katzuba had been wrong. Especially in light of all the accolades heaped upon him -- like, what more does he want? A parade in his honor and 10,000 cookies?!? A grovelling Flash Mob?
Interesting that you say Tom messaged you this: "Jim wasn't completely done checking, and he did indeed find five tickets that were issued in error, including the one that has already been voided at T&P. All the others will be voided and the car owners notified by mail with notices going out within the next 3 business days. Jim is on my team. You mess with him -- you mess with me."
Then a few posts below this: "Jim wasn't completely done checking, and he did indeed find five tickets that were issued in error, including the one that has already been voided at T&P. All the others will be voided and the car owners notified by mail with notices going out within the next 3 business days. "
Did you add the "Jim is on my team. You mess with him -- you mess with me." Seems strange you would post it differently.
I absolutely did not add that myself. When I posted about it a second time, I decided to include that part of the message as a rebuttal to the assertions that *I* was crazy/insane.
I initially left it off when quoting his LJ message to me, trying to err on the side of politeness but then, after the deluge of "you are an embarrassing/crazy/fucking psycho" comments I figured I might as well stick up for myself by posting the his comment to me in its entirety.
I might be a complainer but I am in no way a liar -- which, if you'll recall -- is why I got so upset in the first place -- because TC's "update" post made it appear that I had been lying about wrongly issued tickets.
You'd better be glad I'm not still a Moderator. If I was, I would already be talking to my co-Mods about banning your sorry ass. I don't think they'll do that, but as far as I'm concerned, the davis_square community is made worse by your presence. It was made better by Tom's presence and now he's gone, due in large part to you and your self-righteous inability to be civil. And I don't care what you think you're correct about. You were wrong to treat him the way you did.
And you don't see a problem with current davis_square moderators participating heavily in a snark community? I do. Moderators, by definition are meant to be impartial adjudicators. Participation in a snark community throws even the thinnest veneer of impartiality out the window.
I still fail to see what was wrong in saying, "Tom Champion, your information is wrong," when his information *was* wrong. And as I'm not the only person to have felt frustrated by his posting of wrong information -- perhaps you should also ban the woman who refuted his claims that the sexual assault police report hadn't been filed when she absolutely had filed a report.
Honestly, I think the *final* final straw was people complaining in your comments that his mention of the Diesel Cafe event's low population was a "guilt trip". Talk about not being able to catch a break.
Well, you know, if an event isn't announced in davis_square, multiple times and in advance, it might as well not be announced anywhere.
I'd be totally frustrated, too, if I had posted announcements for something in half a dozen places, and then had people whining at me that I didn't post it in (apparently) _their_ special place for getting 98% of their news.
I think that this problem illustrates very well the fact that the city/mayoral spokesperson should probably not be giving 'official' information on a site such as this. He should probably have kept his official status separate from a social/networking site such as this. People can contact him with questions/concerns which he can then handle personally, rather than in a public forum. I suspect 'someone' in the administration called for an end to Champion's involvement with any site such as this where official information is discussed/analyzed/etc.
I think that this illustrates why the city/mayoral spokesperson should probably not be posting on a site such as this in his official capacity. This does nothing but create problems and individual issues/problems/concerns become very public, whether they are resolved or not. I suspect that 'someone' in the administration called for an end to the spokesperson commenting so publicly on various city issues.

Certainly looks that way.
Yeesh, I know I am handy with the complainy-sword but that was certainly not my intention!
Well, then maybe you should get a grip occasionally.
